Bench

Drift explores how a single repeated profile can generate an entire object. Developed during a summer 2026 residency at Pocosin Arts School of Craft, the bench grew from an investigation into laminated poplar curves.

The profile became the system.
Repetition transformed a simple laminated member into structure, joinery, and rhythm. A series of lap joints connect the members, allowing gesture and construction to develop together rather than independently.

Individually thermoformed Corian seat panels follow the same gestural rhythm, allowing surface and structure to participate in a continuous expression.
