Justin Bailey is a designer based in Bloomington, Indiana, USA. Inspired by subtle irregularities observed in motions like tilting, draping, and inflating, Justin explores the use of pliable surfaces in functional form. His studio practice combines digital production technologies with traditional craftsmanship to create designs utilizing bending, segmenting, and intertwining structures for furniture, lighting, and objects.

Justin Bailey’s designs have been exhibited as part of WantedDesign NYC’s Launchpad, the SaloneSatellite in Milan, and at Stockholm Furniture and Light Fair’s Greenhouse. He has received Bronze in Lighting Design from the International Design Awards [2022], a MetropolisLikes award [2017], and a LIT Lighting Design Award [2018]. He was been named by Azure Magazine as one of Toronto Design Week’s Top 5 Emerging Talents in 2018.

Bailey is based in Bloomington, Indiana, where he is an Associate Professor of Creative Core in the Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture Design at Indiana University. Justin received an MFA in 3D Design from the University of Iowa and a BFA in Sculpture from Webster University.
